The Badgers group is all about encouraging and supporting children in preparation for transition to reception class at school.
We offer each child the opportunity to develop their academic skills within a structured daily routine, we have a focus on phonics daily and enjoy getting the parents involved! We have time for fun with our friends and teachers in the group after our learning is completed.
We enjoy water play, snowball challenges, nature searches in and around the local environment, imaginative play and much more!
We talk about why we must go to school, the benefits of enjoying new activities and meeting new friends. Role play, dressing up in school uniform and working our way through a typical school day is something that we like to give the children to experience. We encourage the group to communicate any concerns they may have about going to school and attempt to resolve any negative feelings or anxieties which the children may express.
We are working on a transition structure where the known adult can help your children settle in to their school with someone familiar.
We work together with parents and carers to achieve the best results for each and every child.
