All food is home cooked and freshly prepared on site. We promote a balanced diet and are conscious of portion sizes, ensuring that each child have what they need.
We have created a diverse menu which is inclusive of all allergies, intolerances and religious dietary requirements. Ingredients and additives are closely monitored to confirm that there are no ingredients, etc. that should not be shared into the nursery.
Our daily menu includes a variety of fresh fruit and vegetables – even having had our Tesco delivery lady commenting on how impressed she was with the amount of fresh fruit and vegetables we order per week!
We liase with parents and children to create individual menus for children in relation to their likes and dislikes and ensure that children are heavily involved in our food choices. We regularly discuss the menu with the children in order to adapt it to suit what the children are most interested in and that would excite them the most to eat!!
The older children serve themselves, cook, and, at times, make cakes for the nursery children to have for pudding! The children are educated in how to prepare food and understand where the range of foods come from and how they are grown along with the process of how they get to our table.
The kitchen staff’s level of knowledge and experience of the kitchen is second to none in adapting the menu to include vegetarian, vegan, etc.
We provide a take away lunch or tea if parents request this. It may be because the children have to leave early or have an appointment in the middle of the day which means they then don’t miss out on their lunch or tea!
